IMN.jpg

Independent Media Network Foundation is a cultural arts organization that dedicates itself in improving the quality of life in urban and rural areas for those interested in pursuing the cultural arts and audiovisual industry by developing a training and apprenticeship program in film and interactive media.  IMN Foundation will also promote the independent entertainment arena and hopes to foster a more inclusive cultural arts economy in Louisiana.

The growing interest in the creative economy is driven by numbers that attest to the scale of its’ employment, revenue, and growth rates.  Studies have shown that culture – locally, nationally, and globally – is big and getting bigger.  This concept of “a cultural arts economy” is not new to Louisiana.  In 2002, an economic impact study by the LA Division of the Arts claimed that each year Louisiana arts organizations and their participants made a direct contribution of $202 million to Louisiana’s economy.  Indirectly, this had an indirect annual economic impact of $934 million.

With high levels of self-employment and small business activity, cultural economic development offers income opportunity to non-traditional workers, who are frequently left out of the economic mainstream.  IMN Foundation is available to play an important role in workforce training.  Cultural arts and the audiovisual industries will continue to see substantial growth.  This will result in the need to adapt to the changing skills needed with these industries.  The need to keep pace with new technology is a major retaining issue affecting all sectors of film industry.    Broadband connectivity will be the underlying theme behind these emerging technologies now through 2016 and will grow as rapidly as the Internet did in the late 1990’s.

“Tentative efforts lead to tentative outcomes. Therefore, give yourself fully to your endeavors. Decide to construct your character through excellent actions and determine to pay the price of a worthy goal. The trials you encounter will introduce you to your strengths. Remain steadfast...and one day you will build something that endures: something worthy of your potential.”
